KidMantisThe short version
KidMantis does not upload or transmit child profiles, progress or creations to Switik. It is a fully static app: it has no accounts, no logins, no server database, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. After the app loads, ordinary play makes no internet requests. Everything a child does is stored only in the browser's local storage on the device being used — which also means anyone else who uses that device, or anyone given a backup file a grown-up exports, can see it.
Free on the web — and what that means for privacy
KidMantis is free to play right here in your browser — no account, no ads, and nothing sold inside it. KidMantis never asks for, sees or stores payment details. There is nothing to buy inside the game itself — no ads, and no purchases a child can make.
What is stored on the device (and only there)
An optional nickname and picture chosen from our list, an approximate learning range, per-skill progress, the learning tree and character growth stage, Leaves and WB Coin balances, achievements, unlocked pretend rewards, settings, and creations (drawings, sticker scenes, tunes and stories).
KidMantis never requests a full name, exact birth date, email, phone number, address, school, photos, contacts, location, microphone, camera, or any advertising identifier. The first release has no microphone feature at all.
What leaves the device
No child profile, progress or creation is sent to Switik. There is no telemetry of any kind. The web host that serves the app's files keeps minimal, short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses of file requests), used solely to deliver the site and keep it secure — never for profiling, advertising, or tracking. These logs are not connected to any child profile, which exists only on the device.
How long we keep information
Switik has no server database and receives no child profile, progress or creation data, so there is nothing of that kind for us to retain or delete. The only copy is on your own device, under your control (see Deleting data), together with any backup file a grown-up has exported. The web host's technical logs described above are short-lived and are deleted in the ordinary course.
Spoken guidance
Optional spoken guidance uses your device's built-in, on-device voice. KidMantis only selects voices your device reports as local, and never sends children's text or creations to any cloud voice service. If no on-device voice exists, KidMantis shows captions instead. Weetik & Beetik's chirps are synthesized inside the app and contain no words.
Backups are yours
A parent or caregiver can export a backup file from the Grown-ups area. That file is created locally and saved wherever you choose. KidMantis never uploads it. Restoring validates the file before anything is replaced.
Deleting data
The Grown-ups area can delete individual profiles or erase all KidMantis data from the device. Clearing the browser's site data or uninstalling also removes everything — which is why we recommend exporting a backup first. Because we hold no copy, we cannot recover lost data.
Children's privacy laws
KidMantis applies child-protective defaults to every user everywhere: the app collects no personal information from children — no accounts, no telemetry, no advertising or tracking identifiers — and Switik does not sell, share, or process children's personal data. The only exception is the web host's ordinary technical logs described above. Distribution in each market receives review against that market's applicable child-privacy and consumer rules before release there.
